Looking for anyone who remembers jody cadence called Jungle Work, from the late 70' & early 80's. This is a Warren Zevon rock 'n roll song that was re-mixed on the Run To The Cadence of The Rangers (and SF) tapes that came out back then. His music was "most hooah", lots of guns, violence, mercenaries, etc. Well, the man himself (Warren) has terminal cancer, and I am researching (rather quickly) the influence his music had on the military. There are some unit patches with Lawyers, Guns, and Money, another song of his, on it. If you're in your 40's you must have remembered Werewolves of London? Don't know how long he can hold out, but it's danger close.

Hi Rangers, This is Geno Karnish! Member number 1203. This comment is for all the rangers but mostly for my command of D/17th Inf. LRRP\LRP from Germany. I'm doing fine and have some very large model aircraft for sale, a French Nueport 28C,18foot wingtip to wingtip upper wing and a 10foot fuselage. The craft has working controls and is ready for an R\C radio to be installed. I had th chance to sign this book and thought that I would drop a note to You Guys to show you that I'm still building and want more Patrolling mags sent to my place. Dana!, My name is Eugene F. Karnish and I served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. I was assigned to D17th when it had a designation with the number 3907 in the line somewhere and the word Airborne in it. I watched the designation change to L.R.R.P. and then again to L.R.P. and then to the 75th Ranger Regiment. I knew people like Terry Roderick and many more risk takers like Him in that time. I want to submit my renewal for the upcoming year and need a renewal form or I'll just use the one that is in my last issue of Patrolling. My adddress is E.F. Karnish,1911 Leavenworth street, Omaha,Nebraska 68102. I have no phone at this time and spend most of my time building exotic aircraft models but I think of you all alot of that time. Now that I have the chance to send all of you a note I can't think of much to say other than "I'm Alive and kicking". Geno Karnish Co. "D" 17TH iNF. LRRP\LRP AIRBORNE

10/29/02, I just read the guest book. I noticed very few "Papa" company Rangers. I served as a Team Leader for several patrols prior to being promoted out of the Rangers. It disturbes me that I can remember only a couple of the men I served with. I remember a nick name of a guy from Jackson, Mississippi named "Yanko" (spelling is a guess). It would be interesting to talk to some rangers that I served with. I will look for my orders to get the exact dates I served with "Papa" company. I was Team Leader on mission that Stephen Wray was KIA.

Yesterday and today are the anniversary of MOG. I had the honor of serving with Bco 3/75 with all of the heroes and standing in their ranks. It was an incredible experience to serve with these men. From Al "Scullcrusher" Lamb to Rick "you need to go on a road march...hooah" Merritt. Raleigh "natas" Cash and Tory "troy" Carlson. They are all great men and I am proud to have known them. I wish them and every one the best.

Good job on the website! It's very cool. I really enjoyed the section that lets you read all about the history of Rangers (during each war). My dad is a Ranger (C-75th Co.) and that's ALL he talks about, so it was interesting to read about the Charlie Co. missions from 69-71 (when he was in Vietnam) and get an idea of what he was a part of. You guys ROCK!

Whitey is back! With his good old attitude! Thanks to the person who gave me back my old membership #74! The baret can go it's way, but don't change a Ranger's number! The big Ranger in the sky thanks you... Now for a personal note: Yo Rangers! Past, Present, & Future; This is Whitey from Charlie Co. 75th Rangers, 3rd Platoon, Team 33. Just got a call from Giossi from Australia - but my phone battery went dead & we no longer had commo! But it was nice to see him last July when he came down to L.A. NOW, if he can come ALL the way down from Australia, why can't the rest of you Southern boys come on down here to SOUTHERN California! If y'all get lonely for the South, I'll fix you up some grits (and I even got a possum in the backyard)! To Cook: Giossi says, "Have Cookie give me a call." To Fred Barker: Papa-San and I say hi. To "Doc" LeClaire: Hope you're doing well. I'd also like to say hello to the family of Richard C. Boone. And last but not least, a big hello to Lois Cunningham, who's put up with me just like T.C. did. To all the Rangers and their families, may the Gods be with you. Keep Truckin!

The reunion just ended in Columbus GA. For those who missed it, you missed a great one. This may have been the best one ever. I think this one will be talked about for years. We had a really great time. Congratulations go to Dana McGrath for being elected the new Association President. The next two years will be more productive for the Association than the last two years. Stay tuned and contibute. I enjoyed being your President for the last two years and wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I had a great time serving and we accomplish a great many things. If your not a member, JOIN. If you are a member, get a friend to JOIN. Become active in this Association and show your support. It is a good and nobel thing to do. Catch the wave now, don't miss the next ride, it promises to be a great one. Rangers do Lead The Way and In God We Trust and we are One Nation Under God. THANKS Emmett

This site has been up for almost exactly one year now. We've had over 100 new members just off this site alone. The reunion is next week and I turn over the Association reigns to the next guy. Thanks to all for supporting the Association and it's activities for the last two years. I've enjoyed it. I ask that all members visit the site often and make an entry. I ask that all members recruit just one new member. I plan on buying and giving out one year memberships for Christmas presents. What better thing one can do for a fellow veteran than to get him in touch with this Association. How about that last Patrolling Magazine, what a winner. We plan on bringing this site up to that same level. Now is the time to get involved with this Association. Be part of the solution. Get active and contribute. We are doing so many good things now days in so many different area's. Be a part of it. It's the right thing to do. It's the honorable thing to do. RLTW, see you at the reunion. Emmett

I am the son of SFC John L. McCoy (Ranger Hall of fame inductee July 1999). I had the privilage of addressing an auditorium full of Rangers when I recieved my father's adward for him. You see, my father was killed in combat in the delta region in Vietnam on September 26th 1964. I was 6 years old. I did know my father. My father was killed during the advisory period of the Vietnam war. At that time few Americans knew where Vietnam was or that the U.S. had a presence there. It was a tough time for the childeren and widows of KIA soldier. My father was a career soldier. My family only knew "the military family". We recieved a phone call from western union on a rainy night. They said we had a telegram to pick up. My mother did not drive. By chance my mother's sister was over and her boyfriend took mom to the Western Union office for the telegram. At least in 1965 during the battle of Idrang Valley, the taxi cab drivers were delivering the telegrams to the families in Fort Benning. The telegram stated that my father was MIA. A couple of days later the process was repeted to find out that was KIA. He left behind three childeren and a Japanese wife who could not drive or speak fluent english. My mother went into shock and emotionally withdrew from her childeren. She never got over it. She became numb. At that time we lost the support of our father and the "military family". There was no support system to help with the greiveing process or the shock of the transition into the civilian world. Growing up we never spoke of him and never even had a photograph of him up in the home. We learned over time that it was not a good idea to tell classmates, friends, teachers or strangers about dad's death because of the reactions that were manifested by the media. "He deserveded it", "he was a baby killer" were many of the reactions that families of Vietnam KIA and MIAs recieved from the newly informed. Many families learned to "bury" the feelings and the father. The unresolved greif hung around many families like a dark cloud. No body remembered my father. The proudest day of my life was the day I recieved my father's Ranger Hall of Fame award. I could speak of him from my heart in that big room full of Rangers. I knew at that moment that my father who died in a rice paddy after he saved the other American advisor of the 43rd ARVN Ranger BTN, was remembered. Many of you saw your nephew, your friend's son or your own "kid" when I spoke for my father that day. For the first time since I age 6, I felt that I was part of that "military" family again. I'm going to Vietnam in March 2003 with my sister and many other vets and sons and daughters. Thirtytwo years after my father's death I found the only American that was with dad on that day. Through him I know where he was killed. I will go there to see the rice paddy, the Pagoda and the tree line. I will feel his space. I will remember his courage and his sacrifice. I will remember that he gave all he could. I am blessed to know that you have remembered him. When you get a chance, could you visit him... SFC John L. McCoy, KIA 26 September 1964. Panel 1 East, Line 64. Mike Barron McCoy, Son of SFC John L. McCoy Ranger Hall of Fame Inductee July 1999.

Looking forward to the reunion and seeing fellow Rangers. If you were on any N Company Rangers teams, I would like to hear from you. We all were assigned to one team but at times went on missions with other teams as man power was needed. Memorial Day weekend was special as I received a call from a Golf Team member (Dan Zurbuch) whom I have tried for weeks to locate. My brother, (Sven -Delta Team)and I (Golf Team) were in the N/CO at the same time. So let's stay in touch and keep this 75th Association site strong.

To the members of the 75th Ranger Regiment Association. I leave office as President this summer. When doing so, I will ask the incoming President if I may work on this web site. There has not been a lot of work done on this site since we got it up and running for several reasons. One was that the developers charge $75 an hour for their time and I didn't want to expend Association funds for that. Also, no one has come forward to volunteer their time to do it. I can't do it now because my time is so tied up as President and I haven't learned the deveopment program yet. When I leave office, I plan to devote all my spare time to this effort. I ask all members to submit suggestions now of what you would like to see or how you would suggest this site be upgraded. Please send to my e-mail address with enough explaination and examples that we can use the information. I thank you in advance for your support. Emmett W. Hiltibrand - President 75th Ranger Regiment Association

Congrats again on a great website. Still would like to hear from any C/75 vets who worked with 1LT Rod Windham and (then)SFC Voyles with the BDQ in 71. Have found most of the old BDQ team from 70-71. Still seeking 1LT Dan Donohue from NYC and last heard of in the Foreign Service. Now that the lunatic has temporarily shut down the USARA guestbook, hope he doesn't find his way here. RLTW

Hi Guys I am writing here at the advice of Jimmy Kinney. First, let me ID myself. My name is Tony Orifici. I served in RVN from June 1967-Nov.1968 with B Troop 1/9 Cav.(Blues) Recon Plt.,1st Cavalry Div. I was Airborne qualified, but not a Ranger. But the 1/9 Cav was direct support for the E/52 LRRPs and the later H/75 Rangers. We came through a lot of 'tight spots' together and I believe invented the 'pucker factor' of 11 in the A Shau Vally in '67 ! In other words, we were brothers, and got along like that. LRRP Teams NEVER left anyone behind...and the 1/9 Cav NEVER left any LRRPs behind. 'Nuff Said'. The reason I'm writing. I was crusing around E Bay last week in the 'Military Collectables' Vietnam section, and I came upon a item being sold that stated " VN 1st Bn 75th Inf. Airborne Ranger Patch" The item pictured is a Scroll. Well, we all know that there were no Ranger Bns. in Vietnam. And we all know that as of 02/01/69, all the existing LRRP Units were re-classified Ranger Companies and staffed by the present Personnel. And we all know that the 1/75 was reactivated on June 4,1974 at Ft. Stewart Ga. Soooo...I assumed the individual selling this scroll was a bit mis-informed,and maybe through that mis-information,was selling and misrepresenting a Military Unit Insigna. So I e-mailed him and advised him of the error and asked him to relist his item with the VN (Vietnam) before it. I gave him my credentials and was very civil in my e-mail. Well...this letter being long winded enough,I won't go into the reply he sent me (but if any of you who read this want it, I'll be glad to forward you a copy) but it was so insulting that I replied to him that he was a jackass and a fraud and was just making money selling lies! He said he was going to report me to E Bay..I wanted him do that because then he would have to prove that his item was ligit...And we all knoiw that he can't do that. Well, I'm not crusader, but this really pissed me off. So I wrote E Bay...and I wrote Mr. Hiltibrand. E Bay never responded. Mr. Hilibrand said there was nothing he could really do. Then I heard from Mr. Kinney. And he suggested that I write down what happened here. He figured that a lot of you 'Old Foul Dudes'like me ,and you 'young hot shots' like we used to be, might read this, get as PO'd as I did and drop this REMF an e-mail. If his mail box gets flooded with e-mails from irate Rangers, he may have a change a heart. I agree. There are a lot jerks out there selling Military items that are completely bogus. As Mr. Kinney aptly put it "BS'ers selling to BS'ers. ". They can never all be stopped. But maybe if one was put in his place, word may start to get around and some of these BS'ers may be more careful about there 'wares'. Now this guy must have a load of these scrolls because he always has one up for auction. So here's his Info: E Bay ID: Justlooking7 Name: William Brown. The current Item number of the scroll is : # 1080663663. Just go to http://www.ebay.com and punch that item number into the 'Search' Box. His auction will come up and you'll get a look at the patch and read his 'Ad'. It's laughable. Well guys, that's the Sitrep. I don't know why this one thing bothered me so much...but it does. If it bother's you to..go get him. I wish you High Speed and Low Drag. Take Care Brothers. Tony Orifici

Our daughter is doing a school speech. She needs TRUE answers to these questions. What started the vietnam war? What ended the war? What kind of stories can you tell her about what you did in the war? (Good and bad) Considering the way vets/you were treated when you returned home, what makes the USA great in your eyes? Please remember our daughter is in 5th grade. Her teacher will be reading your emails to her, so please keep it clean. We would also be very pleased if only vets from Nam could help her out. She has already heard a lot from her dad, but would like to hear from others who were there. Karen (Tad's wife)

Welcome Home Brother's!!!! I was in country late "68" to early "71". I was with F Co rangers in the late "70"s at CU CHI With the 25th Inf.. I came to the rangers from a Signal Unit. When I joined the Army in "68" I joined Airborne Rangers,Well you know the story from there. Basic,AIT(Siginal}?,Jump school, then back to Signal school?. Well so much for what you signed up for.... so off to Vietnam I go.Airborne Signal just didn't seem right so the call went out for Volunteers for the 75th Airborne Ranger Regiment F CO 25th INF. So I finally have a CIB to go above my Jump wings, and can stand and say Airborne Rangers "All THE WAY". Alex "Bob" Briones RA18923246

I came from B Company 2nd of 7th Cav and reenlisted for A co.75th. My Ranger class was class 9 of 1973. I received my Ranger tab and my E-5 Sgt. strips on 6-28-73. I went home and rested for a month and than went to Airborne school. I was a leg Ranger for Airborne school and that was a heck of a deal. I received my wings on 9-4-73. I went home for leave for two months and shortly after; A co. shipped out to Germany and started to train with the German and French commandos. At that time I was awarded my German jump wings. While on R&R I was in company with one of my team members (Pvt. Bissy) and being of high sprits with little ability to motivate in our walking skills I delegated pvt. Bissy to confiscate and operate a near by jeep so we might move on to our next mission of terrorizing local patriots and confiscating German beer from the next Guest House about a half mile down the street. About a half hour into our mission Captain Nolan and his party walked in and began to radically question us about stealing his jeep. I explained to Capt. Nolan that we simply were exercising our Range skills and using the surrounding environment in order to complete our mission in a more efficient manner. He accepted the explanation, however the XO did not. We were reprimanded and forced to buy several rounds for the captain and his party. I am a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association and V.P. of the Witness On Wheels chapter. I fly my Ranger tab and wings every day on my colors. P.S. I am looking for an A co. 75th Inf. Tab. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know. “Ranger” Roy Barree 979-532-5606 home – 979-453-0367 cell – roybarree@yahoo.com Only The Strong Survive!

Rangers Lead The Way! September 11th has come and gone but there is still work to be done on the front line. For that work the rangers have been charged. Having served with 1st Batt, I know these soldiers will confront harm and rain hell, fire, and brimstone on those that shake their fist at the American way of life. Thank you rangers for doing as those before you.....

Just wanted to let every one know I have memorial T's for TFR Mog. The release of the movie being moved up threw a monkey wrench in my plans, but such is life. Good news is the family of my dear friend, Lo Ruiz, got their shirts in time to wear them to a screening for the families on the 15th. Recently made contact with Casey's older sis, Sancy, as well as DeAnna. They should get theirs soon. Meanwhile back at the ranch, any hooahs interested need only to send an emial to me. Have a meeting to discuss getting a web site up and running next week. Want to especially thank my loving wife Jamey, "Speedy" Gonzales, Jerry Herrera,Kriss Karp (civi), Tom Womack, and Dale Sizemore (my old roomy) for all their support and encouragement. As well, the aforementioned families of my fallen Brothers, for their overwhelming show of support and and kindness. Debeo Semper Memoriam...TFR Mog "PeeWee"
