Darrell Boatman Memorial Re-Dedication

I am trying to find an appropriate place to post this here on the BB

My name is Marc Thompson. I am the current Unit Director for VII Corps LRRP, C/58, and B/75.

There will be a re-dedication of the 28th Division Memorial at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania on 12 September, 2009.

Those of you who knew Roy Boatman of November Rangers may also know that he passed away shortly after his son Darrell was KIA in Iraq in 2005. At the time of his death, Darrell was attached to the 110th Infantry, part of the active duty portion of the Pennsylvania National Guard.

Because he was attached to the 110th, Darrell’s name appears on the 28th Division Memorial, which is located on post at the Gap.

Joyce Boatman will be traveling to my house in PA, and I will escort her to the re-dedication on that date. There is also a possibility that John Chester will attend.

What I am trying to determine is if any other members of N Co. or the RRA would like to attend this Memorial service.

You can contact me at:

Marc L. Thompson
610-913-8183 (home)
610-763-2756 (cell)
Email: mthomp@dejazzd.com

I already have calls into Reed Cundiff (N Co.) and Chuck Vaughn (C Co. – lives in PA also). Bill Bullen will not be able to attend due to prior commitments.

Please contact me for further information regarding the re-dedication, and because I want to inform the Detachment Commander at the Gap and the others who served with Darrell as to how many RRA members to expect.

Thank you

Marc
